I just got a call informing that Blake Snyder died this afternoon.  I'm shocked and heartsick.  Blake was one of my dearest friends.  We collaborated on five screenplays.  He was one of the kindest people I have ever had the privilege to know.

I am most sorry for all of you who are trying to learn how to write for the screen.  Blake was one of the best writing teachers I ever knew.  He taught me more than I can ever tell you.  All I know about writing movies I learned from Blake.

His book, Save the Cat, is the best book on screenwriting ever written, in my opinion.

I loved you, Blake.  I will miss you more than you could know.

I totally agree with your sentiments. Blake was one of the Hollywood 'nice guys'. I was fortunate enough to have had contact with him on a few occasions. In fact, I was due to meet with him this week, until my plans fell through.

He was very supportive, inspirational and a positive influence to many. I fully appreciate the kind words and motivation he provided me. He will be sorely missed.

I still can't believe Blake is gone. I called him my "sunshine friend" because talking to him always filled me a happy energy that lasted for weeks. I'm an actress he befriended. I always recommended his books to writers I know or helped (with script editing), and was quick to let Blake know when he'd helped yet another writer. He always made time to talk to me, and encouraged me to give him a call any time I was in L.A. It's good to know his talents will continue to entertain and assist others. But the world is a little dimmer without him.

I heartily agree with your comments about Blake's gift of teaching and kindness. I've had several telephone conversations & emails; as well as one-on-one time developing ideas with him. I'm shocked and saddened by this loss but will try my best to apply everything I've learned from Blake.

I'm currently working on a story that Blake has helped me develop and could think of no better way to honor him than by making it the best script possible. I'm so thankful for having known him.

A great teacher, and more importantly, a great guy!
